Another moderately average week. Figures that the big two would finally cut back on the shipments...in DECEMBER, when we could actually use a little more on the shelves. I guess itjust gives you more time to look over what is here and spend a little extra on X-Mas gifts.
Capt. America Korvac Saga is one of those mini-series reliving classic events from Marvels past(like the Secret Wars and Infinity Gauntlet ones).
The Chaos War brings back a real heavy hitter with Ares, but will he stick around after the fight(or just take off looking for Osborn?)
Lady Mechanika#1 ships, the preview #0 issue sold fast, the covers and interior art are really sweet.
Widowmaker is a mini-series featuring Black Widow and Hawkeye battling a super-spy killer.
AND don't miss Fables #100. This issue is a huge 100 pager full of neat extras like a game and a puppet theatre. There will be close to 60 pages of stuff that will probably never be reprinted in the trades, so be warned.

YES!! The comics will arrive Wednesday as usual...1 full day ahead of the Americans. So be sure to post comments on your favourite reads of the week early Wednesday to ruin the stories for them ,(it's their own fault for having their Thanksgiving so late in the year).

Nice start to the month with a lot of paperbacks and hardcovers to add to your Holiday wish lists.

Batman Orphans is a 2-parter that takes place before Red Robin starts.

Daredevil #512 is the last of the Murdock issues as Shadowland wraps up, next month Black Panther takes over as the Man Without Fear.

Heroes For Hire takes most of the Heroes who gathered to fight Dark Daredevil and teams them up, including Ghost Rider and Iron Fist.

Marvel canceled a couple or 3 Wolverine books a few months ago, and now they are starting a 2nd on-going already. Wolverine Best There is #1, Marvel promises it to be the most violent Wolverine comic ever.

I could tell you something about Chaos War God Squad or What If Iron Man, if I could find any info on the Marvel web-site, but there isn't even a cover for me to load on my site. You'd think a MULTI- BILLION dollar company could afford to hire a competent web master to update there site regularly.

Marvel announces the cancellation of Thor Mighty Avenger, and starts Astonishing Thor at the same time. Maybe they should realize 5-6 books with the same character in the lead is just toooo much.
DC finally gets the much anticipated Batwoman book off the ground, and we'll get to see how well Batman and Robin sells without Grant Morrison writing it.
Marvels Chaos War continues with the dead Alpha Flight characters coming into the battle,and Thunderstrike returns for a mini-series(was he dead or not? I can't remember).

Also back and possibly dead, Vampirella gets a new series(it might have been smart to get this one out BEFORE Halloween).
Sales on Justice League Generation Lost have been slowing lately, which is odd as the book kicks into high gear. Be nice to see how many people are paying attention to this story now that it seems to be tying in closer with Brightest Day(Bruce knows about Max).

Detective Comics starts its new direction with the creative team of Scott Snyder and JOCK. Most of the DC books this week ran a few preview pages, looks really good.

And volume 13 of the amazing Walking Dead series arrives, and goes on sale a little early, on TUESDAY 23rd. Don't wait for Wednesday, they'll go quick.

CUSTOMER APPRECIATION SALE

It seems like every day, someone new walks in the store to look around, and asks me" how long have you been open".
The surprised look on their face as I reply"23 years and counting", is usually part confusion that they have never noticed my store before, and part astonishment that an independent specialty shop can make a go of it for nearly a 1/4 century.
I have to say that the key to longevity of any business, is in the loyalty of its customers. And the key to customer loyalty, is to value each and every customer.
A customer appreciation sale is more than just an excuse to clear out some dead stock before the holiday season(although it's always nice to think that my overstock, is some readers treasure), it's a way to give a little bonus to my loyal customers who have supported me all these years.
Aside from the 50% off all backstock over 6 months old, I will also be filling a few bins, and the walls, with variant cover comics from the last year or so at 50% off.
The REAL treat though is one of my favourites from the past. Several years back I did a gumball lottery that went over really well. Basically with every purchase over $10.00 you get a chance to win FREE books, gift certificates, or special discounts(even your entire purchase FREE).
